Upward Revision of Minimum Stipends wef 11 Sept 2025 under Apprentices Act,1961
As per the OM and the subsequent notfications, the minimum prescribed stipend under various approved schemes like NAPS, NATS, etc has been revised. The revised stipend ranging from a minimum of Rs. 6,800 to Rs 12,300 per month depending on the educational qualification in the first year of apprenticship are mentioned in the table below.
In view the the revision, the establishments are advised to
- Ensure that all the new contracts created after 11 Sept 2025 should be issued keeping in mind the above prescribed minimum stipend rates
- The existing contracts are expected to be revised as per the above stipend rates
- The establishments are encouraged to offer higher stipends above the minimum prescribed stipend rates
- It is mandatory to raise the stipend rates by 10% in the second year of apprenticeship, and by15%(of the first year) in the third year of apprenticeship
- In case the Sept 2025 stipend is processed with old rates of minimum prescribed stipend, the establishments are suggested to release arrears along with the Oct 2025 stipend effecting the revision from 11 Sept 2025
